Sugar Biscuit

On May 27th, my little niece, Jacy or Sugar Biscuit as I call her turned 3!!I can't even believe that she is 3 years old. She was born the day Kevin moved all of our stuff to El Paso from Lubbock but I stayed in Lubbock for the birth of my sweet baby niece. I named her Sugar Biscuit the first night she was home from the hospital and she will forever be called that name which I'm sure she'll love when she's 16. When we moved to El Paso, I wasn't working and Kevin was traveling to Lubbock every 3 weeks for work. So I would travel with him and visit my Sis and Jacy. So for a year we got to watch her grow and we owe most of our baby knowledge to her, my sister and brother-in-law. We felt like were totally prepared for Mallory since we learned so much with Jacy. A year after we moved, my sister and her family moved to Wichita Falls so though we don't see each other every 3 weeks anymore, we do get to see each other alot more than other families. We are very thankful for that. I do wish we could see eachother even more and lived closer.

I love my Sugar Biscuit so much. She has grown so much and is so unbelievably smart. She is also a wonderful big sister to Britton. And boy does she love her Aunt Mere, Uncle Kevy, & Cousin Mallory! We were sad to miss her birthday but we hope to see eachother soon!

Here are a couple of her 3 year old pictures. Wow, has she grown!

18 Months Old!

Our sweet Mallory turned 18 months yesterday. I just can't believe she is a year & a half. She is getting so big. She says new words all the time and is so smart. Kevin & I just are amazed by everything she does.
We did have her check-up yesterday. Mallory used to just cry when she got her shots but the past couple of visits have been terrifying for her. She screams from the moment the nurse & doctor walk in the room. But she made it through and the doctor said she is doing great. She weighed 23 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 31 3/4 inches long....how accurate these are, I'm not sure b/c she was fighting us the whole time.
Today I took her to get her 18 month pictures taken at Sears. She hammed it up for the camera and we got some great shots. I'll try to post some later when I get them.
I can't believe 6 months from now I'll have a 2 year old!!

Swimming Pictures!

I didn't have enough room for the swimming pics in my previous post so here are a few from our hotel swimming adventure!

Ducks & Swimming!

While we were in Lubbock we had a chance to take Mallory to feed ducks for the first time (you don't find too many ducks in El Paso). Since she is easily frightened by animals, she made us hold her the entire time but enjoyed throwing bread at them, while also eating some for herself, and watching us feed them.

Later on that day, the 3 of us went for a swim in the hotel pool. Mallory loves the water, once she get used to it first!

P.S...sorry that I'm a week behind on my posts. I'm trying to play catch-up!

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day in Lubbock and we had a great day just the 3 of us. We enjoyed our free continental breakfast at the Embassy Suites then we enjoyed a day out and about....including lunch at Jason's Deli, shopping, & take-out from Bigham's BBQ for dinner. My sweet hubby & precious Mallory treated me like a queen. I was showered with sweet cards and some cash to shop, get a pedi/mani or do whatever I would like! I'm so blessed to be a Mommy to my sweet Mallory and wife to my awesome husband:)

Jeff & Barri

As I mentioned earlier we went to Lubbock for a wedding on the weekend of Mother's Day. Our dear friend Jeff got married to his beautiful bride, Barri on May 10th. It was a beautiful wedding. Kevin was asked to be a groomsman and was honored to do so. Jeff is one of our favorite people and we are so happy for him & Barri. Barri is wonderful and we can't wait to get to know her better. We were also able to see Scott along with some other old friends. It was great to catch up and visit!

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Whitaker!

New Backyard!

We recently got our backyard landscaped and we absolutely love it! We had just rocks (which is very common for El Paso) in the backyard before and now we have grass. Mallory loves to be outside and now with grass, I can let her have more freedom than with the rocks. We also extended out the porch and bought a new grill. We are really enjoying it out there and look forward to a summer of many cook outs!

Grandma & Grandpa G

On May 9th we set out for Lubbock, Texas for our friend, Jeff's wedding. On the way we stopped in Hobbs, NM to visit Grandma & Grandpa G aka Kevin's parents. We weren't able to stay long but we had a nice visit and Mallory enjoyed seeing them. And of course, she enjoyed rearranging all Grandma's picture frames.

Family Pictures!

While my mom was here, I had her take some pictures of the me, Kevin, & Mallory. We rarely get a picture of the 3 of us (if we do it is with the timer and it is usually not that great) so I figured while I had mom here, I would take advantage of it. So here are some random family pictures of the 3 of us.

First Haircut!

On Friday, April 25th, my mom & I took Mallory to get her first haircut. I had a mine done first and then Mallory sat in my lap to get her hair trimmed. Gina did a great job and literally just took off a little on her bangs and on the back. I was sure that Mallory would flip out but she did a wonderful job. She got a little upset at the very end but pulled through like a champ! Here are some pictures from our day at the salon!

Oma comes to visit!

My mom aka Oma came to visit us for 2 weeks. Wow, did we have a great time as usual. Mallory adores Oma and loves playing with her. Of course, my mom is head over heals for her and treasures every second with Mallory. While she was here we enjoyed playing, reading, going to the park, and of course shopping. Mallory has a whole new wardrobe and lots of new toys!

Thanks, Oma for coming to seeing us! We had a great time!
