Elmo & Nummy

Last week I cut out some construction paper while Mallory was napping and when she got up we did a little craft project. Daddy got home early so he was able to help too. We put together Elmo & Cookie Monster or as Mallory calls him "Nummy" because when he eats his cookies, he says "num, num, num". Up until last week, she called Elmo, "Belbo" but she in now calling him Elmo. She had a lot of fun putting them together. She did the same type project at the gym nursery but they made jack-o-lanterns. It was quite cute so I thought it would be fun to make our own Sesame Street characters at home. We'll work on the others soon.
I'm trying to be much more crafty with my sweet Mallory since she misses out on these things by not going to a MDO yet. It is alot of fun. This week we made Fruit Loop necklaces but she was too busy eating the Fruit Loops to really care!
Below are our final products!

Bubbles!

Last week, I bought Mallory some new bubbles at Gymboree. She loves her bubble machine but this allowed her to blow her own bubbles & it is easier to use than a regular wand. Mallory's Kindermusik teacher used it in class last week so my friend, Lee & I went straight out and got one for our girls. It is fun and is produces a ton of bubbles.

Rocking Chair

We have a rocking chair in our house that was in my house growing up. It is very special to our family because my Dad gave it to my Mom when I was born. Mallory enjoys getting in there and rocking back & forth. She loves to rock and say "rock" over & over as she does it. She also likes me to sing "Rock a Bye Baby" as she hums & sings along. It is so precious. My parents love these pictures because they remind them of me sitting in there. I'm very sentimental so I love that this rocking chair will be passed on, along with the many sweet memories!

Zoo T-shirt, Monkeys, & Outside!

While we were at the zoo, I couldn't resist the cute zoo t-shirt in the store. Both sides of the shirt has the "Zoo Bus" full of animals. So here is Mallory enjoying a sunny day outside in her new shirt. She loves this t-shirt because she knows all the animals...which is exactly why I chose that one. She also found her Curious George monkey and took it along. She loved that she also had a monkey to match the one on her t-shirt.

More Zoo Pics

The Zoo

Last Friday, three of my girlfriends and I took our sweet little girls to the El Paso Zoo. We went last year but this year, Mallory really enjoyed it and recognized most of the animals. She would point at them then either say their name, their sound, or both.
I let her walk most of the time. She does a great job of not running off but just in case I put her wrist band on with the attached handle. It was the first time we used it. So yes, I put my daughter on a "leash" but you gotta do what you gotta do! She enjoyed walking around and I had the peace of mind that she was not going to run off.

It was perfect weather and we all had a great time together. We spent 3 hours walking around and enjoyed a picnic lunch. It was a super, fun day! (I love the last picture in front of the alligator...look at that face!!)

We're Getting There

Last week, Mallory went tee tee on the potty again! This is her second time and we were so proud. She doesn't mind trying but she doesn't usually go. The first time was right before a bath a few weeks ago and the second time was right when she woke up last week.

She gets one M&M for trying and two for actually going. So that morning she actually went!! YEAH!

I didn't get pictures when she went but this was later on in the day. She is showing me the #1 to remind me that she gets one M&M. She is so cute. She also says "one" as soon as she sits down everytime! She is munching on her on M&M in a couple of the pictures.

It is a work in progress but we're getting there!
