Mallory's Birthday Party

<

On Saturday, we had Mallory's 2nd Birthday Party. We had a perfect group of close friends come over with their kiddos. So including Mallory we had 4 kids at the party which was perfect. The adults got to enjoy some conversation while we watched the kids play with each other. Mallory got to open more presents then we all enjoyed snacks & of course a yummy birthday cake. Mallory loves Sesame Street so we did a Sesame Street theme. When she saw all of the decorations, she kepting saying "Oh My Gosh"! She is such a cutie. Kevin also drew pictures on our sidewalk of some of the characters with chalk. It turned out great.
We had such a great time & Mallory had a blast!
It was a great birthday weekend!

Mallory Turns 2!

As I mentioned before, our sweet Mallory turned 2 on Friday, November 21st. I just can't believe how fast time flies! She is so big & so smart. Here little sayings & expressions are hilarious. And her smile and laugh will light up a room.

Here are some pictures from Friday. We enjoyed a family day around the house filled with presents, fun, & of course, cupcakes!

Before I was a Mom

My Mom sent this to me. It is so sweet & so true! Just wanted to share it with all of you!

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

2 Year Check-Up

Yes, can you believe it? I can't! Today I took Mallory for her 2 year check-up. Our little baby turns 2 tomorrow, November 21st! It is so crazy! She is quite scared of the nurse & doctor so she did alot of screaming & crying which of course makes Mommy want to cry too but I held it together. She did have to get one shot but at least it wasn't more! She was fine once we were in the car with her lolly pop! We also got to go play with friends & go to Kindermusik so she was back to normal!

Here are her 2 year old stats:
Weight- 25lbs 13oz
Height/Length- 34 1/2in.
Head- 47 3/4cm

Dr. Guggedahl said she is doing great and everything looks good! Praise God for a healthy, happy baby girl...ok toddler!!

Play-Doh!

Mallory loves to play with Play-Doh! We got it out for the first time a few weeks ago and she really enjoyed. Here are some pictures of her making a few beautiful creations. Of course, she took a couple of taste tests too!

Baby Shower

On Saturday, November 8th we (Galyean, Kings, & Leutes) had a couple's baby shower for our friend Jeremy & Julia and Mark & Sandy. Mark actually deployed on November
4th so he wasn't able to be there. Julia, Jeremy, & Mattox moved in August so they stayed with us that weekend and do did Sandy. She was in the process of moving so she stayed with us too. It was such a fun weekend and a fun shower. They got some cute boy stuff and of course enjoyed some fun times. We love these 2 families dearly and miss them so much. We have many plans for reunions. I have to see those babies!

WHUMC Women's Retreat

Last weekend (Saturday & 1/2 day Sunday), I attended our church's women's retreat. This is my second year to go and my second year to be on the design team. I work with a group of 5 other ladies throughout the year to plan these awesome retreats. I missed out the first year they had one b/c I was nine months pregnant.
This year, we had a great turn out with a great group of women. It was so nice to get away (though I missed my family terribly) but I did enjoy some girl time. We were also blessed with an amazing speaker, Michel Cushatt (www.michelecushatt.com). She did a great job and we learned alot.
I would say I got plenty of rest but my roomies/friends (Alli & Wendy) & I stayed up until 2am talking. It was so worth it. Though tired, I left there refreshed and renewed! And Kevin got to enjoyed a weekend with his sweet baby girl!
God is so good and he definitely blessed me through out my weekend!

I was a little bummed that I missed the Tech/UT game. We sold our tickets b/c I had this planned a year ago. But we did make some money so that was nice.
One picture is of 3 of us girls watching the play by play on Andi's blackberry!

More Trick or Treat Pictures

Here are some pictures of the 3 of us!

Trick or Treat!

On Friday night, Kevin & I took Mallory trick or treating for the first time. We only went to about 5 houses. We specifically went to 2 houses because we know them really well and so does Mallory. We first made our way to the street over to trick or treat at John & Maggie's house then headed back to trick or treat at Kari & Eric's (our neighbor's). We hit about 3 other houses in between. Mallory enjoyed walking in between but when it came to knocking & saying trick or treat...she wasn't quite sure. So we had to hold her when the people came to the door. She finally got up the nerve to knock at one house but they weren't home....it was so sad! She was done knocking after that.
When we got home, she enjoyed going through her candy & helping me answer the door to give out candy to trick or treaters. She was stand at the door and look at all the costumes!
It was such a fun night for all of us!

Halloween Day!

After our Halloween party, Mallory & I came home for her to take a good nap before trick or treating. After her nap, she was able to enjoy some time outside with her pumpkins and hanging out around the house! Here are some cute pictures of her enjoying her Halloween day!
The next post will be trick or treating pictures!
